Worship While You Work

OH-EM-GEE, she is alive!

Yes, I have returned to the blog world my friends :)

And...married I might add!

Philip & Erica Canant. Joined in union on February 12, 2011.

See how happy we look!? Awwww... okay, I am done now ;)

I am just beyond words though. It was very very difficult for me to write and/or blog during the engagement (we had a 2 month engagement--I know, CRAZY). And, it was a little difficult to jump right back into it after the wedding as well because now, life is in a whole new chapter. The wedding was just the beginning of this life-long journey with my amazing and mighty Boaz (see blog titled: This One's for the Girls...and Boys to get the reference), Philip.

In the last couple of weeks, I have thrown around all kinds of different topics to re-open my blog with post-wedding, but nothing stood out...until now.

I want to share a story with you...

As many of you know, I lost my Abuelo (we call him Welito or Lito in our family) last year. In fact, it was a year ago this April 5 (Tuesday). I simply cannot believe it has been a year. My Lito was with me as I took some of my first steps...

Taking some of my first steps with mi Welito

He was with me the first time I ran away and for, well just about everything in life...

I miss him terribly, but I am so thankful for his prayers before he passed. He called out to the Lord for a husband for his granddaughter and the Lord provided.

As I think about the man he was, there is one principle he forever helped write on my heart as well as on our whole family--Work hard, not for men, but for the Lord.

His life, really depicted Colossians 3:23 (NIV), "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men"

Right now, God has put this verse on my heart so much lately. It all started with a desk plaque my parents bought Philip for his birthday that had this verse on it. Along with it, I was experiencing some things as well that had me truly lean on the Lord for understanding, covering, and for an attitude of Christ. He whispered, He reminded me, and His word spoke the rest.

At anything I am putting my hand to, I will work at it with my whole heart as unto the Lord.

God deserves all of the glory. God deserves all of the glory. He deserves worship even while we work, even more so while we work! He deserves worship and praise all of the time.

I do not know where you are at today, where you work, or the situation you are in, but I want to encourage you to do everything with all of your heart unto the Lord. Please our Creator. Please our Heavenly Father.

Thank you Lito for teaching me this by your actions. You were such a wonderful example of this and because you worked with your whole heart as unto the Lord and not unto men, our family is where we are at now :) We are in a free nation, getting to openly worship and serve our God! I tip my hat to you (hehe, I am actually wearing your hat in this pic Lito). Te amo.

Do Everything as Unto the Lord Today,
